It's Time We Prioritize Our Neighborhoods First

Neighborhood Champion

For the past nine years, Priscilla Vigliante has been District 7’s advocate for prioritizing our neighborhoods first. It all started when her son Mateo was born; Priscilla's priorities changed. She noticed how local government impacted her family - road conditions, community safety, litter-free neighborhoods,  and a robust local economy.  Priscilla constantly conversed with her husband, Peace, regarding their son's future. She kept thinking about the community she wanted her child to live in. As a second-generation Texan, Priscilla knew that talking alone would not be enough to provide a safe, clean, and economically thriving community. So, she rolled up her sleeves and began working alongside her neighbors to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. Her neighbors have been role models and have shown her what it means to put neighborhoods first.

Proud Texan

Priscilla's upbringing, shaped by her single mother's dedication as a public school educator, instilled in her the values of hard work and service to others.  Even before graduating from St. Mary's University, a Catholic Marianist college in San Antonio, Texas, Priscilla was drawn to civic service. Her early volunteer work at the local library was a testament to her commitment.

While obtaining her bachelor's degree, Priscilla worked at the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in their Economic Development department.  She was also selected by Spurs Sports & Entertainment to lead the San Antonio Spurs 'Go Vote!' Committee, a role she embraced with passion and determination. She later became a principal at Hill & Knowlton Strategies, focusing on strategic communications for the energy industry and strategic marketing for political action committees. Priscilla also worked in a global telecommunication company's public affairs war room. In 2016, Priscilla earned her M.B.A. from East Texas A&M University; during that time, she participated in a study abroad program in Beijing, China. In 2023, Priscilla graduated from UT Austin's LBJ Women's Campaign School. Priscilla has been a physician liaison for the past thirteen years; Priscilla currently works for the #1 hospital in Dallas/Fort Worth, where she has been instrumental in promoting access to health care. She is also a certified community health worker through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Priscilla was called upon to lead the Historic Hospital District Neighborhood Association and became its president in 2018. During her tenure, the neighborhood has continued to be recognized as one of the safest south of 183. In addition to being the president of the Historic Hospital District, Priscilla was an Irving Ambassador and an appointed resident to the Charter Review Committee. She also is a 2019 graduate of the Irving 360° Civic Academy. In 2023, Priscilla was sworn in as a Planning and Zoning commissioner.

The Future of District 7

Recent events have sparked numerous discussions about the future of District 7, leading to a collective agreement that our community needs reinvestment and a focus on our neighborhoods. Priscilla shares this vision, believing when residents are engaged, it leads to safer, cleaner, and economically thriving neighborhoods. With this belief, she is rolling up her sleeves and stepping forward to run for city council. Her determination is clear- she is committed to making District 7 a welcoming, safe, and family-friendly community for all who call Irving home.

Let's take a step forward in putting neighborhoods first by supporting Priscilla Vigliante to get elected as our next District 7 representative.
